AI takeover: A Hypothesis or a Fact

The top Humanoids of Our Time

These faces might appear sweet, beautiful and intelligent to you. However, these are the faces that have led to a state of constant fear in human beings, from varied professions. There is a recent increase of insecurity in almost every human being about the rapid growth of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The most threatening part of this fear is about being out of a job. To add more to the process, eventually being enslaved by AI.

The Open Letter from the Future of Life Institute, about the upcoming threats by AI has been signed by many eminent scientists like Stephen Hawking and Elon Musk. Many technological intellect people accepted the fact that there are potential dangers related to the rapid development of AI. So, is AI capable of replacing humans, in future?

The AI takeover is still considered a hypothesis. There is a lot to be done to reach a state anywhere close to Fact. It is time to give this hypothesis a thoughtful thought.

It is necessary to understand that there are certain things that only human beings can do. Empathy and creativity are assets that belong only to human beings. It is also true that with the increased amount of research work and inclusions of innovation in AI, the possibilities are getting unpredictable. Recent developments have paved all possibilities of attaining excellence in AI.

However, against all odds, the basic skill to survive in humans remains beyond machine knowledge. The entire evolution process of human beings makes it impossible for any AI to replace humans. As human beings understand and can intelligently handle things that are getting beyond their capabilities, there seems to be o chance for any AI to take over the human race.

It is true that AI will make humans free from repetitive tasks and can even help to heal depression to some extent. However, the abstract nature of compassion and emotional attachment still seemed to be next to impossible. AI will definitely increase the levels of unemployment, but at the same time, it will make humans more independent and will rather force humans to turn into Entrepreneurs.

In a way, rather than getting engaged in petty stuff, AI will offer more intellectual and intelligent developments to human beings.  As the name suggests in itself, AI will make human beings free of using any intelligence that is ordinary or artificial. It will only help humans to take bigger leaps in the process of evolution.

On a more specific note, co-existence with other species does not seem to be a forte in human beings. There is always the urge to be superior. And it is this urge that will never allow any AI to take over.
